After finishing an English course in Texas, I traveled to Durham on August 4th. It's sad that we have to be separated from each others, but it is also a beginning of another new adventure. I can't believe how much we, Thai scholars and some teachers, bond for only 2 months that we had been stayed together. Of course, we all stay in touch. That's why I think that I will write a blog in my multiply site instead of in VOX. Whoever have been reading my blog, please go to my multiply site instead. There are many photo albums that I posted in my multiply site that you can also check out.
GOODBYE VOX!!!
Today is my graduation day! We had a ceremony that is semi-formal -- Having lunch, music performances, and then giving certificates to students who graduated. On this special occasion, we all Thai scholars dressed up real nice. My friends helped me choose dress to wear and do my hair. They are so generous. Probably because I am their representative who was chosen to make a speech on the stage. :-) Well! I had prepared my speech for 3 days since I was approached by the teacher who wanted me to make a speech on our graduation day. Having little time to prepare, I was satisfy with the result. I admitted that I was so nervous prior to getting on the stage, which is typically normal for everyone. However, somehow I could manage to cope with all my excitement and vibrant sound of my voice during the speech. I tried to look around the room and people's faces. 3 minutes later it's all finished. I got off the stage and felt like I have come to a finished line. The feeling of stress disappeared and there came praises from others.
After the end of graduation ceremony, we all stayed there in the room for a while -- taking photos with teachers and each other. I was taken numerous pictures with friends who were, kind of surprised by the fact that I can dress up beautifully -- that's what others said, not my word! Thank you for all your compliment. But all I was thinking at that time is about my speech and telling myself not to be nervous.
Tracy, my teacher, looks really pretty. Someone says that she looks like Julia Roberts. We were taken several pictures together because I was so-called her favorite student and indeed she is my favorite teacher. Well! unfortunately, I didn't bring a camera with me, but I will ask for photos from others and post them in my multiply soon.
I decided to make another blog with "www.multiply.com" because several of my Thai friends here have their
blogs on Multiply. So, I checked them out and felt that it's pretty interesting website. Particularly, there is no
limit of posting photos on the site and I can organize it into photo albums. Plus, the interface is appealing to
me. That's why I decided to post photos in my multiply blog instead. However, I will continue posting here
because I don't want to write in Multiple yet.
Well! That covers the message that I want to convey!

Yesterday, I went to Fort worth Art District to visit museums. Unfortunately, having such a short time, I couldn't visit many places. A modern art museum and Kimbell Art Museum are the 2 places that I got to visit. I paid $4 for the fee because there is an exhibition of renowned contemporary artist, Ron Mueck. His works are fascinating. They are sculptures that looks very much like real human. It would have been wonderful if we were allowed to take picture.
We also went to Water park. I didn't swim though. But it's better than staying at the dorm.
I had a graduate class to attend yesterday evening. The course is about psychological assessment and wellness. There are other 6 Thai students who also chose to attend the same class. Well, I should tell you that this is a part of an assignment made by our teacher. That is, we have to find a graduate class to attend for 3 weeks. The purpose is to experience the US graduate classroom atmosphere, so we won't be panic when studying in our universities. We all went to the class for the first time to observe. We were granted permission by the professor before attending the class. It starts on Monday and Thursday around 17.30-21.50.-- pretty late, I know. The first time went well -- we had chances to participate in class discussion. I was nervous because most students are intellectual American adults. They are not hesitate to speak out in class. There was a debate and they all made sure that they didn't miss to indicate their points.
Besides that, I have a lot of homeworks to do again. Mostly, it's from the writing class. I have to write an introduction of my research paper. At least 5 articles must be read in order to write this research paper. That's tough work! So I might not have time to post on blog this week -- I try though.
Yesterday, we organized a birthday party for two Thai friends. There were, of course, Thai dishes and BBQ. We all shared money to buy ingredients and kitchenwares. The party went well. We also hung out near the pool to play some games with each other. It's great! I think that we all had a wonderful time. The party was over at 10.00 pm. when it's time for everyone to go back to their rooms. Next time, there are likely to be more guests at our Thai food party and hope that it will be more fun.
My ticket, my seat, and baseball stadium
2 days ago, we went to a baseball game and it was an eye-opener because we got to experience the American lifestyle. There were all kinds of people going to a baseball game -- families, friends, and lots of kids there. We ate hot dogs and watched the game for about 3 hours. It was a midnight when we all arrived at our dorm. I would have enjoyed the game better if I had understood its rules.
The team mascot, the field, and outside the stadium.
I have a presentation yesterday. My topic is ADR which i have never studied before but going to. It required a lot of efforts since I have to learn new knowledge and prepare for tough questions -- other Thai friends usually come up with required brainstorming questions. I was nervous as usual but it went well. Several friends like it, so I'm happy with that.
Today it's July 4th. We have several activities to attend, such as a parade, concert, and firework! I should go to bed now.
This evening, around 7.00 pm, my friends and I(10 people) went to see a Jazz mini-concert which took place inside a building of UNT campus. While it was raining outside, we were infatuated with the beautiful voice of jazz singers and the sound of piano. UNT is considered to be one of the best university for studying Music in the U.S., That's why I'm glad that I had the chance to appreciate their fame. We all got back to our dorm with this wonderful experience that I will never forget.
Yesterday, we had a writing critique test which had occupied most of our time in the past few days. Tomorrow we have a trip to see a baseball game. And Tracy, our beautiful teacher, will also be there with us. Of course, I will definitely bring my camera there. Although I have no idea about the rule of baseball game, I will try to learn that in order to make it fun to watch.
Today I went to two horse ranches in Texas. It's one of several trips that we'd all been waiting for, because not often that we get to visit such a place. Also we had a chance to relax from academic stress, as for we had the writing exam on the day before. I took lots of photos today. Mostly they are pictures of horses and scenary. There was a woman who educated us about horse ranches all the way to the destination. It was informative.
